ACTIVITIES/GEAR TO ENHANCE YOUR FAMILY TRIP
Kids Tablet: We have a rule for traveling - while we’re in transit, at restaurants while waiting for our food, and/or some hotel downtime, the kids get their tablet. This Amazon Kids Tablet has never failed us - and is a great deal this week!
YOTO Reader: The YOTO, a kids audible reader, is a hit in our family. They get to pick the story cards that they love and play it themselves. It is especially great during roadtrips and before bed! It helps to have the right organizer and accessories as well. Some of our kids favorite YOTO Cards are the Disney story collection and the Julia Donaldson collection.
Kids Digital Cameras: One of our kids absolute favorite activities are the digital cameras they use as we travel! Our daughter loves her girly pink, unicorn camera and our son loves this camera.
Doodle Pads: These Doodle Pads keep our kids entertained, ranging from baby stage, toddler stage, to big kids.
Sticker Books: Sticker books can keep my kids busy all through our travels. My son loves these reusable animal and vehicle sticker book packs and my daughter loves these girly sticker books.
Magnet Toys: Whether it is mini magnetiles or magnet cubes, all three of my kids stay occupied with these.
Matching Game: My kids love playing the matching game. We have a few versions - it’s great for hotel downtime or waiting for food at a restaurant.
Art Scratch Books: My kids love these scratch art books that they can work on it and since you don’t need colors, it’s less “stuff” to carry around.
Sensory Board: I got this sensory board for my baby, and my older kids and their cousins ended up loving it too! Now it’s a go-to gift I love giving babies and toddlers for their travel adventures. An alternative is this softer Buckle Board, which we’ve also used.
Polaroid Camera: This FujiFilm polaroid camera is something I love to use each trip, but I usually let the kids take a few pictures themselves and they love it.
Disposable Mats: These disposable mats are a staple of all our restaurant visits. I like to stick them, especially in front of the baby, and put the food directly on the mat. The visuals on the mat keep the baby entertained. I also keep these cost-effective puffy stickers for the kids to decorate their mats.
Full Smocks and Bibs: When we’re traveling, I like dressing the kids up in cute attire - but our restaurant trips can be messy. I like putting these full plastic smocks over their outfits to keep them clean. They’re easy to wipe off after! On top of the smock, I like to give the baby this plastic/durable bib to catch the food he drops.
Water Sippy Cups with Lids: I like using sippy water cups for the kids that close and are leak-proof.
Bogg Bag: I didn’t initially understand the craze of the Bogg Bag, but now that I’ve used it for numerous pool visits and our upcoming beach trip, i understand the craze. It is spacious, can be easily wiped down, and hold your familys belongings. I found this bag organizer on Amazon as well that I am currently using for a beach trip. It’s helpful.
Native Water Shoes: I love these water shoes for the kids - they are perfect for pool, beach, or transit there. It makes it easy for splash pad days, when you don’t want to pack a second pair of shoes.
Packing Cubes: To organize our suitcases and create a bit less chaos for our destinations, I like using packing cubes. If it is a long trip, I like to plan a bit ahead and pack our whole family’s outfits in one packing cube per day, so we only have to take out limited stuff from the suitcases.
